Family Photography

Family photography is wonderful. It’s a fun and relaxed experience for everyone. Not only that, but it also gives you and your family lasting memories for generations to come. I create photographs for your children to enjoy as adults and even your children’s children to look back on. Seeing the love within a family and capturing it at a moment in time is what I love best. We all lead such busy lives, so getting a chance to experience “us” time together is so special.  Children grow and change so quickly that within the blink of an eye, they’re all grown up. I want to capture your family as it grows and changes, giving you precious memories to enjoy forever.

If you’re like me, you care about your home’s interior design. When you take care of the beautiful things that fill your space, then your family photography needs to match your style too. That’s why I have chosen to work with, only, the best suppliers and professional print labs. I use archival quality fine art papers, that last. There are a range of beautiful products to display your photographs.  My selection of quality wall art frames is designed to complement your home. If you like minimalist design, you will love my frameless wall art in aluminium or acrylic.  If you prefer the flamboyant or traditional design, then I have beautiful decorative frames with a variety of mounting options. Whatever you’re wanting to achieve to match the look of your home, I can deliver.

Most of my family photography sessions are based on location, usually starting at your home. I also offer studio sessions in “The Cube” as well as adult, teen and child portraits. Whichever photography experience you and your family choose, I will make it fun and relaxed.

On location Family photography

What sort of family are you? Do you enjoy countryside walks, splashing in puddles and skimming pebbles on the beach? Or do you enjoy spending time at home, in your garden or at the park? Are you always looking for the next adventure? Or does life have enough adventure and you just love to relax and enjoy some quiet time together? Everyone and every family is different and therefore so are my family photography shoots. Your session completely revolves around you and your family. My job is to capture what is special and unique about you and what your family is enjoying at that moment in time.

How it Works

Am I the right photographer for you?

Are we right for each other? I think it’s really important that you find the right photographer for you and your family because we’re all different. My family location shoots are not quick. They last at least four hours therefore if you’re just looking for a quick shoot and a few digitals, I’m probably not for you. Alternatively, you may be interested in my studio “Cube” sessions which only take an hour. I believe that the world is too digital and there’s nothing like holding real photographs in your hands. It would be wonderful to get to know your family and, hopefully, build a friendship. I would love to return at regular intervals so that you have a lasting record of your family as it changes over time.

Day of the shoot

On the day of your shoot, I usually come to your home and arrive around 8 to 8.30 am. Generally, we will then go out to someone you enjoy going like the park or a walk in the woods or the beach. It could also be to a child’s activity. What we do is completely your choice. I will photograph everyone throughout the morning and capture plenty of candid as well as a few portraits. We may stop at a café or return home for a snack where I continue to photograph your family. The session usually ends by around lunchtime but there are no hard and fast restrictions to my time. I only book one session per day.

Louise is really welcoming and easy to work with. We had great fun doing the photoshoot. We’re ecstatic with our final photos and print, very good quality and well worth the money. We would highly recommend Louise.” Emma M, Burgess Hill

After the shoot

After the session, I will edit and prepare the best photographs ready for your viewing. Viewing and ordering appointments take place at my Hurstpierpoint studio. And this si usually within 2 weeks of the shoot.

Studio Family Photography

The Cube

Family Cube studio shoots are very most popular. The Cube is a fun-filled alternative to traditional studio portraiture.  The big difference is that there is no formal posing.  Children end up having so many ideas that they often lead the session. Once the shoot is finished, you will be invited back to view the images, choose your favourites. Your own unique “CUBE” is made up of 9 individual images. This is one of the most stunning and unique family portraits which really creates a wow factor on your wall.

An amazing experience had by our family in the cube. All 6 of us had such an enjoyable time and couldn’t be more happy with the results. Louise made us all feel relaxed and captured some lovely natural photos of us all. The hardest part was choosing the final photos for the picture as they were all amazing. Thank you so much for everything. 100% recommend this to everyone I know.” Helen, Haywards Heath

Studio Portraits

I love portrait photography. What I particularly love is creating a safe space in which people can relax and feel comfortable. I want to create images which you will love. To do that, my job is to put you at ease and get the most natural expressions possible. Be assured that my portrait photography shoots are always fun. My portraits aim to capture the real you and portray you in the best possible light.  You will be guided by me but they will be real and authentic. Child Studio Portraits

Child studio portraits are all about creating a fun and fast-moving photo shoot. Your child or children can have a session on their own or together with siblings.  I create child portraits which are natural by using a variety of backgrounds and lighting. Above all, I aim to make your child feel comfortable and relaxed.

Teen Studio Portraits

Teen studio portraits are all about the teenager. I ask them about what they hope to achieve with the shoot and I focus the shoot on their wishes. There is little in the way of serious posing. Photographing teenagers is all about capturing the essence of them at this important time in their lives. Many teens who I have photographed have expressed how good it made them feel.

Adult Studio Portraits

Adult studio portraits are often a way to take a little “you” time. The studio portrait session is all about you and therefore I take time to understand what you would like to achieve before we start shooting.  You can have a dark and moody noir shoot or a softer colourful look. Combining both looks is also possible if you choose. It’s about creating images you will love and giving you a great experience doing so.

How it Works

Whether it’s a Family Cube or portrait shoot, you come to my Hurstpierpoint studio.  You are welcomed and the aim is to have a relaxed and fun experience. All studio sessions last 1 hour. Posing is kept to a minimum and you will be guided. After the session, I will edit and prepare the best photographs ready for your viewing. Viewing and ordering appointments also take place at my Hurstpierpoint studio. This is usually within 2 weeks of the shoot.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN A PHOTOGRAPHER?

People often ask me this question. I have been a photographer most of my life. However, I started my professional photography business in May 2016. I have always loved photographing people and I now have a back catalogue of images dating back to the 1970s!
